The much-anticipated first presidential debate of the 2024 election is set to take place on June 27, 2024, according to a joint announcement by CNN and the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD).

The debate will be hosted by CNN and will take place at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida.

The second debate is scheduled for October 15, 2024, and will be hosted by ABC News. The location for the second debate has not yet been announced.

The CPD is a non-profit organization that has sponsored every presidential debate since 1987.

In a statement, CPD co-chairs Frank J. Fahrenkopf Jr. and Michael D. McCurry said, "We are pleased to announce the dates and locations for the 2024 presidential debates. These debates are a critical part of the electoral process, and we are committed to providing a fair and impartial platform for the candidates to discuss the issues facing our nation."

The 2024 presidential election is shaping up to be one of the most competitive in recent history. Biden is seeking a second term, while Trump is attempting to regain the presidency after losing to Biden in 2020.
