Chile reaches Confederations Cup final after penalty shootout win over Portugal

Bravo saves three penalties as Chile reaches Confederations Cup final

Chile goalkeeper Claudio Bravo saved three penalties as Chile reached the Confederations Cup final with a 3-0 shootout win over Portugal.

The match finished goalless after extra time, but Bravo was the hero in the shootout, saving spot-kicks from Ricardo Quaresma, Joao Moutinho and Nani.

Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal and Charles Aranguiz scored Chile's penalties to send them into Sunday's final against Germany.

Portugal had the best chances in normal time, with Cristiano Ronaldo hitting the post in the first half and Andre Silva seeing a shot cleared off the line in the second half.

But Chile defended resolutely and Bravo made a number of fine saves to keep Portugal at bay.

In the shootout, Bravo was again the hero, saving three penalties to send Chile through to the final.

Chile will now face Germany in the final on Sunday, while Portugal will play Mexico in the third-place match.
